In your opinion, how wide is too wide for a bracelet? How many cm can the width be before it’s considered a wall hanging?

it depends but for me i haven’t done very thick bracelets or wallhangings or keychains but i think that about 4-18 strings is a good bracelet length and about 13-30 strings wide is a good fit for a keychain and like 30+ is good for a wallhanging. that is just my opinion. happy knotting

I just finished my thickest bracelet today (#11506) and it measures to 3 cm wide. I also just finished a 20 string alpha, measuring to 2 1/2 cm. They look great, but I probably won’t wear them because I tend to wear bracelets around 16 strings (but I rarely wear my bracelets anyway). It’s personal preference on how thick is too thick, so maybe make a thick bracelet and see if you like the width!

In my opinion, 30+ strings is a wall hangin and 75+ strings is a tapestry.

I don’t like making alpha bracelets more than 15 base strings wide.

It all depends on what you like and what you prefer. For me I usually don't wear mine but if I do wear them I don't like super thick ones so if I am going to wear it then they usually re pretty thin. Hope this helps!

I usually prefer around 30-40 strings for bracelets, cause I like wearing sleeves of bracelets up half my forearms!! And that’s just easier when the bracelets are thicker 😂 no one else really seems to like thicker bracelets though, so I guess it’s really just personal preference

if i'm going to wear it, i don't like them any thicker than 15 base strings. i usually still make bracelets bigger than that though and i just put them on display in my room instead of wearing them lol.

it’s all about personal preference! i like thinner bracelets because they’re faster to weave and get done, but that’s just me!

I think that about 10-20 strings wide is enough for it to be considered a bracelet. Anything wider can be considered a keychain or wall hanging

The largest I wear for a bracelet is the starburst which is 34 strings. After that I consider it a wall hanging or bookmark but its all personal preference.

I like to make alphas around 10-25 strings wide. Anything bigger is too thick for me. I think maybe like 40 strings and over can be a wallhanging 🙂

Thank you for the replies! I love large bracelets (and the smallest I’d ever wear is 8 strings). The largest would be about 50 strings (40 strings for alphas) or 6 cm in width. I
