hey y’all! i know that a lot of people do friendship bracelets with crochet thread, and i just wanted to know if you guys have any tips for friendship bracelet making with it specifically for alphas (planning on trying it out, in the past, i’ve only done stuff with embroidery floss) and if it’s possible to use it along with embroidery floss in the same bracelet. i’ve also seen people making... friendship bracelets with nanocord? has anyone heard of that before, and if anyone’s tried it before, do you possibly have any tips/could ya share your experience working with it? it would be tres helpful haha! alright, thanks in advance! ✌️

ps, for reference, nanocord is ultra thin paracord, and the size of nanocord i’m referring to here is the size that’s about equivalent in thickness to embroidery floss!

I’ve never used nanocord, but I have used crotchet thread. I’ve never actually tried knotting with it before, but I use it as base strings for my alphas. The type that I use is Aunt Lydia’s crotchet thread fashion 3 . They have a lot of colors available at a variety of stores online.

Also, yes it is possible to use crotchet thread and embroidery floss together in alphas as long as you’re knotting with one type and using the other type for base strings. I think that you would be able to use them together in normal patterns as long as one is much thicker/thinner than the other. Actually now that I think about it though, there is some really thin crotchet thread like DMC Petra size 5 that I’ve seen people use in their alphas and there wasn’t an issue, so it really just depends on the brand that you’re buying.
