When I'm changing from color to color in my alphas the knots start to rise up and become elevated. I want my alphas to be flat how can I do this?

Try not to make the next knot in the transition too taunt. I found that doing so in fact pulls together the back of the bracelet, therefor raising it. However, if you are knotting a design with lots of colors, it becomes sorta unavoidable, especially with a background. I hope that helps. Please let me know if you have any more questions. 🙂

So when I add in the next color I should try to not make it too tight?

Exactly! I found that it is actually a good thing if the transition is a little loose.
