Doubling Base Strings

Hi, I have a question about doubling base strings for alpha wall hangings! If I do double the base strings for the alpha wallhanging, will the pattern length also change/double similarly to its width? Will the pattern come up a bit different or be affected? The pattern I am using is 54x60, so I doubled the amount of string to 108.

You could try sketching it out on graph paper or designing it in the generator on braceletbook. If the pattern looks fine, then the wall hanging itself should look fine. I’ve never doubled base strings before, but I can’t see why it wouldn’t work. If you just double base strings without changing the pattern itself though, then it would probably come out looking a little strange.

As for your question about length, I don’t think it would come out longer as long as you do the same amount of rows as the original pattern.
