When I do the first row of my alpha bracelet, it always makes almost like a W shape and takes a few rows to even out. How can i fix this and make my first row more straight?

I recommend taping the base strings down next to each other. Don't start with the base strings all tight in a knot. If they are too close together the first few rows will be bunched up a little and uneven. If you already taped your base strings down next to each other try to tape them down not as close together. You can carefully push your knots up until the row is even. Make sure all rows are as even as you intend them to be before continuing with the next row because you can't really fix that later. |

@halokiwi, so instead of tying the base strings together, you just tape them down, do the first couple of rows... then tie it? hmm

@AlyRos425 yeah, I'd do that. You could also start with a shaped start.

@AlyRos425 a shaped start is for example a triangle start when instead of starting a bracelet in a straight line it starts in a point and gets wider. There are different techniques to do that.
