I made a bracelet for my mom and finished it with ties and everything. But when I look at it, it's too short! How do I fix it? 😭

Hello, @Etherial. I have definitely faced this issue before. If it were me, I would make another bracelet of that same pattern, but make it longer. Another way to fix it without having to make a new bracelet is very risky. I would only suggest this if you are willing to take the chance of sacrificing your bracelet. The way is to cut your ties off, but make sure that there is still some string remaining. Then, cut new strings of the same color as the ones in the bracelet you are making (and the same quantity of each color as well), and replace them so they are longer. Masha Knots has a video where she goes pretty in-depth, and shows you how to replace strings in your bracelet, if you do not know how to. I really hope this helped. Good luck, and happy knotting! 😊

@Crafty_K Thank you, I think i'll do the latter option, I don't have time to make a new bracelet. 😢

@Etherial If this were me in this exact situation at this time, I would probably do the same. 👍 Good luck, and be careful! 😄

something that i’ve done before when i run into this problem is to make the bracelet adjustable. if you don’t know how kinsey b has a tutorial on her youtube channel showing you how to make them. but basically you just make a square knot on the ties. it’s really simple and the bracelet can then be bigger because when it’s adjusted to someone’s wrist. hope that this helped you out!

I am really sorry but you can't fix unless you are willing to take out the ties and add more string or else make another on and keep the old one beside it so you know ho long to make it

I would just undo the ties, then knot it till you like 2 inches of strings then add more string. Kinsey B has tutorial on adding more string so I recommend watching it.

I sometimes attach small jump rings to the loop to expand it by a centimeter or so. When my brother wanted to wear a bracelet as an anklet, I tied a piece of scrap thread to the loop to to extend it. Since it’s on his ankle, you can’t really see it!

You might want to measure by your or the other persons wingspan. It makes the thread long enough for the whole bracelet.

I think undoing the ties would work well or what I do it just twist (or whatever you do lol) a keyring on there and make it into a keychain....I personally don't know what your mom is into but my mom's job doesn't allow her to where jewlery so I make her keychains so she can still show it off and it doesn't get ruined as fast

You could try and undo the ties and adding string onto it or you can make it into a key chain. From personal experience I do this all the time and honestly I recommend making it into a key chain. I don't know your mom obviously but my parents' jobs don't really allow jewelry so I make them key chains and they just put it on their keys so they can still have it with them all the time but don't really have to worry about losing it and what not. Also the key chains tend to not get as dirty as fast. The way I turn them into key chains are to just twist a key ring inside the loop. or you can tie it on a key ring if you didn't do a loop. Hope this Helps!

This happens, I used to tie another sting to the short ones 😂 but i don’t think that’s the best way. I once saw this video that teaches you how here’s the YouTube link

Hope it helps!
