attaching new strings

Does anyone have any tips for attaching new strings to alphas? I have a way that works but it is time consuming and sometimes looks pretty wonky. Please help?

I tape the string to the side(right or left depending on what way the row goes). Then I add it in. When I get farther into the bracelet I cut off the end that was taped(the part sticking out the back) and I use craft glue to keep it there. Is this what you meant by adding new strings?
