Which hands do you use to make the different types of knots?

I always hold down the string that I am knotting on with my left hand, and the string that is making the knot in my right. I do that for all of the different kinds of knots.

I normally use both and I still do but as I am starting to play the guitar and my right hands fingers harden (not sure how to describe it) I think it is feeling a little weird when knotting. I'm still getting used to it as now I am literally using my fingers A LOT. Hehe anyways yeah normally I switch hands when knotting (my right hand for backward knots and left hand for backward knots.

I'm right handed with forward knots I make the knot withe my right hand and backwards knots I wue my left 😇

it really depends. are you right or left handed? i'm right handed and it feels weird to use my left so my backward knots don't make a perfect backwards 4 shape. i think whatever feels most comfortable for you is best.

Hi, @stewon6969!There is no particular hand you need to use for each knot. For me, though, I use my right hand to do a forward knot, and my left hand to do a backward knot. For a forward backward knot, I use my right hand for the first half of the forward-backward knot, and my left for the second half. Vice-versa for the backward-forward knot. This is pretty common among knotters, but does not apply for everyone else. I have seen a lot of people do the opposite, or use just one of their hands for the entirety of all four knots.
