Hello! I was wondering, since everyone on here seems to be using embroidery floss/thread: what's the difference between Phil(dar) Cotton 3 and embroidery floss/thread? Because I've been using said cotton and it seems to work fine for me, but if embroidery floss/thread is really better I might start using it when I run out of cotton.(Though the cotton is significantly cheaper: it's €2,- for 50 gram which equals about 120m. A packet of embroidery floss I've found online was €5,- for 15 different colors of about 8 metres each, making it 8x15 = 120m. So I kind of have to keep that in mind too, seeing as I am but a broke student.) |

Everything comes down to preference. The thickness and the texture of your string can do a lot to change the appearance of your bracelet even different brands of embroidery floss can look different. Like DMC looks better than pretty much anything you buy in a bundle pack so really it's up to you. I like embroidery floss because it's easiest for me to find in a large variety of colours as there's no craft store where I live but there's a walmart. At the end of the day if you like what your bracelets look like and it's working well then keep using it.

Thank you for your reply! And that makes sense, I suppose. It's hard to find embroidery floss at all around here, but I've never seen DMC to be honest. And cotton.. Well it's easy to find around here, which is the reason I started out using it in the first place. But if I happen to run into embroidery floss then I'll try it out to see the difference 🙂. |

I LOVE the brand of string made by Hobby Lobby Artiste. It should be located around the yarn.
