si i was wondering why you guys knot? like do you only do orders or bracelets for yourself or do you just make patterns you like for no reason? just thought this might be interesting 🙂

Well because you wear them as accessories and they may not feel like buying and because some people do it to sell or relieve stress or something

I started out just wanting to make them for me, only one other girl knew how to make them and she was my best friend. Then in high school it turned to sales as by the end of public school everyone just wanted me to give them bracelets... Like my whole class so I started charging. Then I sold them online and kind of still do but mostly I make them because it keeps my fingers busy which keeps me from munching lol. I give them as gifts and sell them now, I don't wear a lot of them myself anymore

It is therapeutic for me. I also crochet, knit, weave, wire wrap stones, play guitar, and saxophone. So haha I use the alpha patterns predominately for bookmarks. But yeah it is fun too

All of my cousins make bracelets, so I will sometimes trade bracelets with them. Since I have learned alpha patterns, I can customize name patterns for me and my friends too. I have todos for me, but I usually make bracelets for others with simple patterns( like •Name• ). It is just fun and something to do in class.

I like to make them because I think it's just really fun! I make mostly alphas and I'm currently making them for other people. I'm definantly going to make some normal patterns in future though!

I started because i was a camp counselor and I needed to learn how to help other campers. someone pointed me in the direction of patterns and I've been doing it since. at first it was for me but now I sell them online and that's where most of my knotting comes from. However, i still like experimenting with new patterns and challenging myself so I co-started a pen pal/gift swap program through Tumblr where we get themes and are partnered up and give each other bracelets each month
