So I wanted to start my alpha bracelets in a diamond shape. What I mean is that, the way you start the diamond shaped bracelet, I want to start my Alphas like that. The problem in when I start doing the knots, and not all the strings are the same color, the first few rows look awful. Any tips, or ideas on how to fiz it?

I think that I have an ideea. I don't know if it will work because I never tried it but it may help you.Start your alpha pattern normally but leave more strings than usual for the braids. When you finish your alpha, you'll have to do the same thing on both ends: - replace the last knot of the last row by a forward-backward knot, so that your background color string is the second to last. - knot a new row without using the first and the last string. End this row by a backward-forward knot. - Then do a second row, leaving two strings on each side, etc... "Pattern"(for a 10 strings alpha bracelet): ¤= "normal" knot / *= backward-forward or forward-backward knot / - = no knot, leave the string on the side. ¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤* -*¤¤¤¤¤*- --*¤¤¤¤*-- ---*¤¤*--- ----**---- Tell me if it makes sense or not 😉 |

What you are saying it's only applying to when I finish the bracelet, I want to do it when I start. If you can, check the post I made in the forum in the other friendship bracelet site, i put the links for pictures of what im trying to accomplish.

I think frenchie63 is trying to say instead of starting with a loop in your strings leave them long and when you're done go back and knot in a 'fake' angled start to your beginning.Otherwise, I think your best bet would be to divide your strings into two sections and tie the knotting string around the two sections as if they were regular strings. Then just drop one of the inner strings on each section and knot over the now four 'strings' (two groups and two individual strings). Then drop the inner most again (two groups, four individual strings) and repeat until you reach your full width and your strings are all knotted individually. I haven't tried it but it seems to work in my head and would give you no colour variation as you'd be completely tying with your knotting string. |

I don't start my bracelets with a loop, I just leave some string in order to make a braid. What I meant is that you make your bracelet, and then you make the diamond shape at the end and at the beginning of the bracelet before making the braids 🙂 But if you want to make a loop then I don't know how you can do, sorry :/

Ok, so basically, let's say I leave 5 inches for braids, then I leave maybe 6 inches. I start the bracelet first with one string, then three, then five until I get the full row. When Im done, then I do the diamond shape ending and then at the beginning?

I had the exact same question. PEQUENO52 had this mastered. He uses a nylon, actual cording that you can burn.( a lot like para cord) I have unfortunately never been able to find a store that sells it. So. If you look at a normal pattern. Uh never mind I will have to make a video sometime. And show you. I think he has a video though
