Uneven Beginnings In Bracelets

Does anyone know of a great YouTube video or anything that could help me with uneven beginnings with my bracelets. I already start all of my bracelets with the knotted loop at the middle. My problem is that once I get about ten rows into the bracelet I notice a very large increase towards me from the beginning of the bracelet. I also have a problem with string arrangement! I do not for the life of me know how to correctly arrange the strings in the right order. I can read the pattern, I just can't make the bracelet look nice. When I arrange them into the correct order it is such a hassle with larger bracelets because the strings tangle. Again if there are any ways you could help me I would greatly appreciate! Thanks |

You could start the bracelet with a braid , then start the bracelet about a centimeter down from the braid, then continue to make the bracelet. Then when you're done finish it with a braid. Then you can fasten the bracelet with the adjustable bracelet ending tutorial if this helps. Good luck.🙂

Do you know how to make the pointed end like Pequeno50?

I looked at some of the pictures he has posted and it seems like he just takes each 2 sets of strings and does a forward backward knot on each 2 sets of strings. If this doesn't make sense, message him because I may not be correct. Hope this helps!

I understand the concept because it uses the same methods as in the shaped bracelet in the tutorials. I just want to know how he makes sure he does the strings in the correct order to make sure the colors match the pattern.

If you go to the video section of braceletbook.com and search Pequeno50 his videos show you how to taper the bracelet ends. The only thing is that in Latin America, we weave underhand rather than overhand like the Americans; also, we use nylon thread so at the end we can use a match or lighter to burn and taper the bracelet ends. But you guys are smart I'm sure you'll figure out a way to do it with embroidery floss! I'm actually thinking about doing a tutorial on tapering the bracelet ends with both nylon and embroidery floss

Thanks so much! I have observed that about knotting underhand. That is interesting. I figured out how to do it basically it is a complicated process to get my strings of the right color in the correct order. Muchos Gracias!

I've seen a method where you tie a knot and then cut a slit in a piece of cardboard. That would give you something flat and straight to tie against or a clip board so you're tying against a flat straight surface

Use Pequeno50's method (you can view his techniques in the video section of braceletbook.com) and actually I was thinking about making a tutorial

Cardboard looms help me with larger bracelets. You pretty much take a piece of cardboard and cut slits in it about 1/2 -1 inch with one in the middle on the top and as many as you want (evenly spaced) at the bottom. You put your starting loop knot in the top and slide your working strings into the bottom slits to organize them.

That would work keeping my strings in order. But my problem is the knot constricts all the strings. It is almost like a bottleneck. The start is too narrow for the width of the bracelet so it looks uneven. I figured out I make a large knot, loosely, untie it and then make several braids. Thanks for your help
