I think it’s hand exceeding you are litterally constantly moving your fingers when you knot and it can be helpful.

It’s not quite the same exercise as let’s say a grip squeezer but there’s definitely some manner of exercise there because if you don’t knot for a very long time your fingers will ache but if you knot for a while this sensation goes away.

I think it's a type of exercise, sure, but the main difference I see in my hands is the callouses. I have more rough spots on my fingers where I knot the strings. Are you trying to get buff fingers or something?? lol

Okay, I'm not sure if this is correct, but this is what I think based on my PE and human development classes:Exercise is activity where you are using gross-muscle movements, so you are moving the large muscles in your body. I think that knotting involves fine-motor skills, which is moving your hands in precise motions and using hand-eye coordination. So knotting does not technically count as exercise because you are only moving your hands and fingers. (If anyone knows more, or if I have any facts incorrect, please reply and mention me) |

Actually a few weeks ago I was making a bracelet for a friend and was knotting constantly, my hands were sore and some of the muscles in my arm were sore as well. So I would assume it was from the bracelet.
