How would I go about estimating the length of a pattern in inches? About how many knots are in an inch?

@Braacelets did you mean knots?

Fourteen rows of knots. So if you have twelve back ground strings in an alpha than twelve knots would be a row and 14 rows would be an inch of your bracelet.

It wouldn't always be 14 rows 😛 cuz it depends on the # of strings in the row

Not really, I always use 14 rows for an inch and it always works out. Im not sure what you mean

So you're saying... If I did 14 rows of a 50 string bracelet and a 12 string bracelet, both would be an inch of string?

Yes KawaiiArt, both would be an inch regardless of the amount of strings. The amount of strings would be the WIDTH, and the amount of rows would be the LENGTH. Braacelets is referring to the length, not the width 🙂 I hope that makes sense

@Mermaid12 I've been meaning it's the width. It just doesn't make sense cuz rows can have different amount of knots, which if you think logically, 14 rows on a 50 string bracelet would use more string than 14 rows on a 12 string bracelet

@HawaiiArt yeah I agree with Mermaid12 and Braacelets, 14 rows will be an inch regardless of the string amount and number of knots.

I don't think this has anything to do with what u guys are talking about but how would u estimate the length of the strings cuz I always get too worried and make my strings really long but whenever I finish the bracelet I always have so much extra string left and I don't really like wasting so much string so what is like a good length for an average sized bracelet (for regular bracelets not alpha ones)?

About 65 inches, depending on your wrist size.

To be easy. Pull the string from hand to hand and fold it in half. If you need only one of the color, cut it in half and save the other

When I make normal bracelets, not alphas, I found that 24 rows is exactly 1 inch.
