I really want to make a bookmark, and I often see people making tassles at the ends. How do I do it where it makes sort of an hourglass shape?

If you’re talking about the tassel that goes through the loop/hole, then “Knot your average bracelet” has a tutorial for it on her YouTube channel.

i think you can do a triangle end, then cut the ends to make a tassel

You mean a tassle you make separately then tie on? If so there's quite a few tutorials on youtube that help.
