Hi guys, so I've been making heaps of Chinese ladder/staircase bracelets but they don't look that great. The bit winding around isn't always consistent and doesn't line up when I switch colours. Here's a photo: https://ibb.co/5vmwb8B
Does anyone know the fix for this? Thanks so much for reading this, I really appreciate the help 😊

You could manually twist the bracelet once you are done with a certain section 😊

you could try and take the next color you want but try to have it line up with where the winding bit ends. idk if that would help but it seems like it wouldn’t hurt to give it a try. hope that made sense!

You can manually adjust the knots to smooth out the spiral. If you're using a clipboard or safety pin to secure the loop, unclip it and adjust it (turn it) regularly so that you're always knotting on the top. I have a small clip with a swivel that I like to use so that it twists by itself while I'm knotting.

When you are changing colours, pass the new colour under the old knotting string so that the next set of knots lines up with the old ones. Make sure that you hold the old string securely with the core threads for the first few knots to keep it from slipping.

Good luck!

Okay thank you! A lot of the time I don't have to manually twist it, but sometimes at the start, it gets a little bit funny and won't line up. Thanks guys! 😊

i would recomend manually twisting it and smoothing out the strings? knots so that it might look more consistent
i think itis best to do this while in the process of making the staircase but i think you can also fix up a finish projet like this
also i think ur staircases look fine 😊

I just kind of push around the knot with my fingernail to get it where I want it so you could see if that helps
