straight top and bottom edges

I was wondering if anyone knew how to do straight edges on the bottom of the bracelet? I want to make a bookmark and I’m going to do the technique with the straight edge and the hole in it for the top. I’m going to put a tassel on the top and I didn’t want any tassels on the bottom. Let me know if you have any ideas!

what i would do is take the extra strings and glue them to the back. I do this with my bookmarks and it works. Also you could just cut the strings super short (like up to the knot) and glue the knots so they don’t come undone.
