What's the best way to store your string so it doesn't get all tangled up? I've always kept mine in a ziplock bag but it's such a mess that way! Any tips?

My string comes on spools so I display them on a wooden spool holder. I color coded them too w00t w00t!

I have a big project on the go, so I have all the colours I'm using for that on numbered bobbins in a storage case. The rest of my string is still in their original skeins (like with the paper labels on them still, if that makes sense?) in colour coded bags. I'm super protective of it so I don't let other people touch it at all lol

Once I start using a skein I put it on a bobbin. Otherwise I keep them in their original skeins in a drawer.

I bought a clear plastic box and some plastic bobbins that are used for embroidery (i make my bracelets out of embroidery floss) and store them in there. The box has seperate sections so that my string is stored neatly and i organized it by color! (you dont have to organize it by color, it just helps me pick which shade of a color to use) i also store a small pair of scissors and some plastic beads in the box in case i want to use them to make bracelets. You can buy a box and bobbins at Michaels or your local craft store. There is also a tutorial on this website on how to make your own bobbins, if you prefer. You should check it out! Good luck! 🙂

I always keep my string in their original skeins. When I want to use the string, I unfold the string (it comes in a folded loop when you buy it), and put the loop on my arm and unroll the string as needed. After I cut my string, I just slip the plastic sleeves back on. I keep half my string in a box, and half in plastic bags.

If you don't know where to buy a storage box or bobbins, try Amazon or EBay, that's where I got my for really chip. Also I would recommend 'Hemline' storage boxes 😄!! Hope this helps :3

I got my storage box a while back at Menards and I found that the seller RusticBead on etsy has a few options for reasonably priced floss bobbins. (The type that RusticBead sells are best because they're durable and it's cut so you can stop the thread from continuing to unravel while you work.) As for my unused skeins, I keep them in separate boxes from the one with the floss bobbins. I hope this helps! 🙂
