I've heard that there are two ways to tie bracelets with holes or zero knots, whichever way you like to call them. Can someone explain to me what the two ways are?

I know that one way is just skipping over the string entirely if it is not used to make a knot an I think the other way is to add the string that you would skip over to the next knot so instead of using two strings (the background&main) you would use three strings (two background) sorry if that sounds confusing but it's the only way I know how to explain it. I think their might be a tutorial for it.
