I have a hard time doing backward forward knots and forward backward knots they look bulky and when I’m reading patterns with a lot of them it starts to get confusing not the knots themselves but where the strings are placed!

make sure that you are tying your knots snugly, and no other strings are getting tangled up in the knot. Masha Knots has a great video on segment knotting, which i have found to make a lot more sense than row by row.

a knot has two parts if you really think about it- the first part that determines the placement and how tight it will be, while the second part secures it in place. in the forward-backward knots (and the backward forward knots), it’s the same concept with them, it’s just that you want to make both parts even. make sure that you have the same tightness for both parts in order to have the bracelet look uniform. good luck! ⛓🎀🧷🤍

I would say anytime you start a new type of friendship bracelet watch a video on how to read them. Making knots is imo quite simple, but when it came to reading patterns, it was super hard. I watched KinseyB, and Marsha knots on youtube. They helped me read and understand the pattern and how to read them. Good luck! |
