Crochet Thread as Base Strings

I saw Alex Innovations recommend Aunt Lydias fashion 3 crochet thread for base strings in alphas. Has anyone else tried this? I would like to hear another opinion on it

I have never ran into issues of using crochet thread as base strings although i have only bought aunt lydias size 10 white crochet thread and it was a little smaller than my other threads so it was only noticeable in my normal bracelets. I think that it doesn't matter as long as you don't mix the sizes of threads used as base strings. 😇

I just bought the DMC Babylo crochet thread to use as base strings for alphas and so far I haven’t encountered any issues. I did have to space my base strings out a little bit more than usual before taping them down otherwise the knots were uneven as there wasn’t much space for them because the string was all bunched together.
