Does anyone else have this problem? No matter how thick my calluses get it still hurts my fingers. I feel wasteful using so many bandaids. I was going to try those finger guards for people that pick their nails. Does anyone have a better solution? ❤️

I used to get thread burns because I tied my knots really tight. When I got them, I would just put bandaids on them too, but sometimes the fuzz on the bandaid would come up and become annoying. If that happened, I would just put washi tape (or any type of tape) on my fingers 😂 If I were you, I would try to practice tying my knots a little looser so that you don't continue to have this problem. Like I said, I used to tie my knots really tight, but somehow I just ended up tying my knots looser without even realizing it 😅 Hopefully this helps! Happy knotting once your fingers heal 😇 |

Yeah I also used to tie my knots really tightly and would get blisters from a it, but recently I tried tying my knots looser and it helped sooo much, now it doesn’t hurt at all. If you try tying your knots looser keep the first half of the knot tight but tie the second half looser. Also I practiced and tried out different tensions on just a simple chevron and I picked colors I didn’t like so I didn’t waste good colors. Hope that helps 😁

I agree. Try to toe your knots looser, but I wouldn't recommend putting regular tape on your fingers, because it might cut off your circulation. There is athletic tape that you can buy. (I use KT tape) and it is good because it stretches really well with your finger but also keeps your finger from hurting. Hope this helps!

i used to have this problem, but over time they went away as my knot tension decreased. good luck! 🙂

You could try to tie knots looser, or you could use athletic tape

i've been having this same problem recently, my skin usually peels on my finger, and i even have a cut right now on where i tie my knots. however, i use a bandaid, but not the fabric kind, otherwise it gets all fuzzy. 🍄🍀 ❤️

I have the same problem and I use Hansaplast Fixation tape. I figured out that this (the frixion thread burn) is a result of the pressure I put on the threads - I make my knots too tight but I haven't tried to loosen them.

When my calluses get irritated and sting from knotting, I put aloe on the callus, a small bit of cotton (just a little bit from a cotton ball or something), and then wrap it a few times with athletic tape. this usually works for me, hope it helps!

I recommend sometimes taking a break from knotting and you can also put on 1-use gloves or out some tap on you calluses to prevent stinging

I would say that most of the time the blisters or burns come from 3 things.1. Tightening you knots very tight causing it to dig into your fingers. 2. After a while of knotting, my fingers start to feel papery and it causes more friction. I usually take that as a sign to get up and wash my hands of take a break 3. Your fingers have a limit. |

I alternate the finger I pull the thread on,, for example normally I pull the string tight resting on my pointer finger, but if it starts getting sore I swap to my middle finger to give it a break. The best thing to do is just have a rest though, It's much better in the long term to have an hour or so off knotting than having to stop for days because your fingers are all cut and burnt
