hello! so. i've been really into bracelets recently and i decided to try an alpha! i have seen pictures of what the back looked like so i have reference. So there i am, making the pattern. 1. i need a better technique on adding colors! 2. the front AND the back of the bracelet looked ugly and twisted. help? 🙈

I have just stared making these bracelets. I am using macrame cord because I have a hard time with the floss getting so tangled even just to start one with the floss is an issue! Anything I can do to learn how to make DMC floss work??

@lydia_g Masha knots has a video on the flat alpha technique, the color switch is almost seemless. Keep your strings in place, don't let them cross each other and when you knot over a base string, ake sure you pull the base string tight

hi! i know that when making alphas your should use the same type and thickness/brand of tread so your knots will be the same size and everything stay uniform. i started buying the dmc cotton pearl size 5 in bulk for white and black bcuz i love how durable it is, however for my colored thread i like to buy the little dmc embroidery flosses bcuz the color selection is much better. my question is can i mix the two textures in alphas? i’d like to use the cotton pearl as a background but use the embroidery floss for the designs. are the two compatible?

@etoscano09 I use also 2 different thickness of thread and it looks pretty good. I’m using it from a local store here.
