So I am having problems with the strings that I am tying the knots in, they always get tangled and then I can't get them out. Sorry if I worded this weird, I wasn't sure how to word it, but anyways if you guys have any suggestions or tips that would be great!

To untangle your strings, use a needle. I always keep a pincushion near by, in case I have to untie a mistake or untangle strings. This might take some patience. Some people use a loom to keep their strings from getting tangled. I would just make sure that after you tie your knot, you run each string through your fingers to make sure that it's not tangled with any other strings. Some tangling is unavoidable. Especially when you're just starting and the strings are really long. When they are really long, make sure you're keeping them as separate as possible. This won't stop them from tangling, but it will keep it to a minimum. Kinda like stopping a problem before it starts. They will tangle less the shorter they get.

Wow, some people use looms? I only use my loom for beading, I feel like a loom would be really frustrating to use for making string bracelets 😲

@Mermaid12: I've never personally used a loom for friendship bracelets. I used to work at Michaels and have seen plenty of friendship bracelet looms available. I never used one because of what you said, I think it would be frustrating. You'd have to move every string to it's new slot after every knot. I think it would double or triple the amount of time it takes me to tie a bracelet.

Haha I'm happy with just using a safety pin for now 😉 but I guess it makes sense, it might be easier for beginners while they r getting the hang of making bracelets 🙂

When I was a beginner I wanted a loom but what I did was tape each individual string to my clipboard. I only did t when I was setting a bracelet because that was the hardest for me to do

I would say just run your fingers through it. Most of the time the strings are twisted not knotted, if you continue going without pulling it apart, it will become a knot.

Where do you guys get looms? I can never find good ones that aren't made of cheap plastic. This may not belong on this thread but I really need some help so I can make a alpha bracelet with at least 60 strings.
