So I’ve tried doing a lot of research on this and I’ve even posted in the forums about it. So which size of crochet thread is closet to regular DMC six strand embroidery thread? I’ve bought Aunt Lydia’s crochet thread in size 3 but it seems to be too chunky and doesn’t hold my knots no matter how tight I try to make my knots. DMC also sells a Pearl Cotton in size 5 so I don’t know if it is the same size as their six strand thread or not. DMC sells six strand cones but they’re so expensive so I don’t want to buy one and it be an incorrect size. Any help would be awesome, thanks in advance.

I don’t use Aunt Lydia’s but I recommend fashion 3 size 10. Apparently it’s really good

The Crochet Thread sizes that are closest to any embroidery floss (DMC included) would be either a size 5 or 8. 8 is slightly thinner, and 5 is slightly thicker, but them two sizes are very combinable with embroidery floss. For Perle Cotton size 5 is again very similar to the thickness of embroidery floss. Hope this helps!🙂 |
