When searching for patterns or videos, you can choose filters such as sort by strings, colors, rating, oldest, latest, difficulty, etc. I think that there should be a sort by popularity option that puts videos, patterns, and tutorials with the most views to the top of the page. Idk. Just an idea 🙂 @Admin

well if youre on the website, click on the logo and that takes you to a "hottest patters" area, but thats mainly based on the newest patterns that a couple people have "loved". but i agree, that option would be cool

@juliannagh no it’s not what I meant. Thank you though. 🙂What I meant was something that takes the number of views from patterns and videos, so that even if you don’t rate it, love it, add it to your to-do’s, etc, but just click on a pattern, it will count it as a view. These views will be used cumulatively to determine the popularity of the patterns while on the main patterns page of the website and the patterns section of the app. It will also be used for videos similarly to YouTube. Each time someone watches a video on the website or the app, it will add a view to that video. The most viewed videos will be added to the top for easier access.

This does sound like a cool idea, however then videos like mine would never be seen ):

I normally sort by loves in order to find more popular patterns

but yeah popularity based on the amount of times a page is viewed would be nice, and correct me if im wrong (i'm not a website developer or an expert at all), but I imagine that on a site with as many patterns as this one, keeping track of the views of a single page (and that for every. single. pattern.) would maybe take quite some data to be processed and saved somewhere, so I wonder how possible this would be (I imagine the hot patterns page is only data of recently viewed patterns, so not at much as keeping track of all pages)

I think that would be a great idea to get put into the website

It sounds like a good concept, but it also sounds like a lot of work for the admin. I just sort by ratings or loves when looking for popular patterns
