Color Substitution?

I always see a pattern that looks really good with the colors the creator put with it, but I never seem to have the exact colors because I've run out. I choose my colors practically blindly when starting a bracelet. Maybe there could be a color substitution-er feature for each pattern so we would be able to see what the pattern would look like with different colors.
