I think it would be really cool if you could add a modification of a pattern like you can with variations!! like editing only a few knots, or adding strings! I think it could be a really cool feature to help more people get into making patterns, especially normal patterns😊❤️

also with variations of alphas - being able to change the color of individual knots, like in the "draw alpha" feature!

I totally agree! People can add on to images in alphas, or, in my case, if they made a mistake on a normal pattern but it ended turning out pretty good, they can make a modified version and upload it!

That's a great idea! Sometimes there are patterns and you want to make an alternative knot structure because the original is hard to segment knot!

I think this feature was removed because it lead to too many patterns being submitted where there was only a very small change compared to the original pattern. Back than the generator recognised them as completely new patterns. If there's a way to make sure the modified version is still linked with the original pattern I think it might be possible.

I think another issue would be that it would lead to even more patterns being submitted. At the moment there's already a very huge amount of patterns submitted. People would probably spam modifications of patterns.
