if a pattern is declined because there's already a "very similar" one in the database, would it be possible to include the similar one(s) for reference in the decline message? it just seems like a very lazy way of declining a pattern otherwise.

I recommend messaging the moderator who declined your pattern. Please keep in mind we cannot see your pattern once it has been sent back to you to edit.

I agree that it would be very useful to include the number of the similar pattern. This way someone has an easier job deciding if they still want to make the pattern and in that case what needs to be changed or if they are happy with the already existing very similar pattern.
