How similar can my patterns be with each other?I have two patterns I'd like to post soon, but they're very similar to each other, and only different by a row or two. Should I try posting them both? Or just pick the one I like best and post it? |

If it's normal patterns I'd say try to post them both, if it's alphas I recommend picking a favourite

We are looking for patterns that are *significantly* different. PLEASE make they more different than just a couple of rows or a couple of knots.

You can also compare them to how different the patterns by different users are. Sometimes there are "series" of patterns that have a lot in common but each are a bit different.

Okay @krazyknots just making sure, because I noticed you posted patterns like #34798 and #34799 recently, so I was wondering if similarities that close were acceptable for the rest of us to make, or if you're posting them for another reason.I'm still not sure about mine, so I'm just going to post both the normal patterns I made and if one (or both) is rejected, then that's fine. |

@halokiwi Yea, they're normal patterns lol, just somewhat similar to each other and I can't decide which I like more, so I'm just going to go for it and see what happens lol.

@Tikilishi Both patterns are significantly different from each other:#34799 Colors alternate with 2 colors (blue and pink), and have one polka dot row between the arrows. This pattern is shorter and the dimensions are 6x32. #34798 Colors alternate with 3 colors (pink, white, yellow), and there are two rows of polka dots and two rows of chevrons between each arrow. This pattern is longer and the dimensions are 6x72. |

@krazyknots Upon taking a closer look, one can see the differences - though in my opinion, they do have some aspects that make them appear similar, at a first glance.Besides the differences you explained, they are much more similar to one another than, say, patterns #34281 and #34280 that are very different. (In my opinion) You said all patterns must be significantly different, which means in a sufficiently different or important way, so I'm just making sure that we're also allowed to make patterns that are similar at a first glance in the way that #34799 and #34798 are. On the sister site for friendship bracelets, I seem to annoy the mods with everything I try and post, so I'm just trying not to step on anyone's toes here and have a more pleasant experience. So that's why I asked for more specific clarification, and now I have a better idea of what's accepted here. |
