Is there someway to copy the knot text (eg f,b,f,b,f,b etc) from an existing pattern?

Hi,I often want to add strings or rows to existing patterns, and in the current implementation of the site I believe this requires me to manually reenter the knots on a completely new pattern. All I want is to have the picture of the bracelet for me to follow, not to submit it to the site. Is there an easier way to do this? If not can we please be allowed to export the knot code so that we can make variations just for ourselves? Please? Thanks |

Unfortunately the current generator does not allow you to see the knot text when making a variation. If you want to modify a bracelet in a variation you need to take a picture of the pattern and manually create the pattern with your changes. If the pattern you created is similar enough to the original pattern then there will still be the generator warning that says it is an existing pattern but can be added as a variation. If the changes you made are too far off from the original then there may not be the warning but the mods may decline it for being a duplicate of a pattern. @harriet22 the generator warning about the pattern already existing only appears, if the knotting structure is absolutely identical. If only one knot is different, it won't appear.

Like the others said, you have to copy the pattern manually, if you want to make adjustments to it. This is to avoid people from easily copying patterns and posting them with very small changes. You don't want to post the pattern, so that's great, but not everyone is like that, so to avoid patterns from being stolen, the knotting structure won't be made available.
