I want to ask a question about the generator, but I'm sure it's been asked before so don't want to ask again. I can't figure out how to search forum topics, though. Admittedly, I am a bit slow minded and likely am missing something, and I don't see anything in FAQ. Could anyone please tell me how to search the forum for topics so that I don't have to scroll through every page of each question asked? Any help is appreciated!

There is no search button on the forum, but you can use a little life hack.Go to google In the search bar type site:braceletbook.com/forum/ After that type what you are looking for I also explained it here: https://www.braceletbook.com/tutorials/169_a-beginners-guide-to-the-forum/ |

The forum is a bit difficult to navigate, so no blame on you. What exactly are you looking for? Maybe someone knows a forum topic about that. |

I know it is your job, but thank you for being so helpful. I want to know how I can gauge how long a bracelet will be based on the number of knots when using the generator. I know knot sizes can vary depending on how tightly a person ties them or what type of thread they are using, etc. I'm new to friendship bracelets, and I've noticed that I am not consistent yet with how tightly I'm tying them - I seem to possibly be tying them too tightly, which causes one type of problem, but then when I try to correct myself, it seems to cause a different issue. I'm trying to learn that sweet spot right now, but so far, on average, it seems that approximately 2mm is the size of a know for me - using 6 strand embroidery floss (typical for the average friendship bracelet from what I've seen so far). Can I use 2mm per square as a estimation for length and width when using the generator? |

As you say, it depends on the material used and how tight you knot.In crochet or knitting, you would often do a test swatch. You can do the same for friendship bracelets. In fact you seem to have already measured one of your bracelets, so you do know how tall and wide your average knot is. You can use that to calculate. If this is about alphas, I can give you one hint: knots are often taller than wide. Take that into consideration. What you can also consider ist that you will get more accurate results, if you measure for example a 10x10 knots big area instead of measuring individual knots. I'm actually not sure what your question is, because you seem to have figured out on your own what you need to figure out 🙂 |
