I don't understand why I can't submit a pattern that uses black string. I always get a warning before submitting it that asks me not to use such dark colors. When I preview it though, the darker colors are way more visible in the pattern instructions. Plus when I have to change one color, I usually have to change the others to avoid them being to similar.

Is there another reason I can't use solid black in my patterns?🦊

We do not accept super dark colors because the grid/individual knots need to be easy to read so it is easier to read the pattern.

I recommend 262626 for black. It is the darkest color we accept.

I respectfully disagree that black is harder to see. For me it's the opposite, but that could be because of my own display settings and visual ability. Thank you for your response and suggestion @KrazyKnotz. 😊🦊

This is about the pattern grid, not the knotting instruction.

In the pattern grid, the grid itself is black. If you use black in your pattern, you can no longer see the grid surrounding these black knots. This becomes an issue when you have bigger black areas because it will become difficult to count how many black knots there even are.
