Is merging colours an option for you? There are so many shades of blue. Do you really need all of them for your pattern?

Yes merging color would be awesome but how? lol no that I don’t I was think one cutting two of the blues out and then one or two of the purples. I was trying to ease on the transition shape but was unable to decide.

To merge colours, set the colours you want to merge to the same colour code. Click "save and test". Go to "draw alpha". Click "save". Go back to "alpha". The colours will have merged.

But can you give me like 5 minutes? I'm starting up my computer to experiment with the colours. It's easier than on the phone.

It took me way longer than expected. Those blues were a real challenge. I didn't even get to the purples yet. I think the best solution for blue is to merge some. You also have to consider that someone who wants to tie the pattern would need that amount of different shades.

One warning is still left. I couldn't make it go away.

That’s ok perfection takes time and patience’s🪔. Yes they were really something. lol it’s ok once the blue is done every color is easier after that; but there are a few more colors just as difficult like green. I’m still new to the knots. I don’t know anything about ties yet. Well that’s ok let’s see what I can do. Here we go 🤯 brain training 🥳.

I see; when I change the first layer that one warning went away but the one that stated don’t use similar colors. I’ll see if I go to the color bar and change the shades from there. I think it would be some what “different”

Usually my first step when using "alpha from image" (which I assume is how you started designing your pattern) is to merge the colours that have yellow warnings. Then the amount of colours is usually reduced to something more manageable.

Apart from tweaking the colours, have you already tweaked the pattern in any other way? This is usually needed when using "alpha from image". Just tweaking the colours won't be enough to make the pattern acceptable even if all automated warnings are eliminated.

Here are tutorials that might be useful for that:

You can tag me by writing @halokiwi btw. Then I'll get a notification.

Considering that the greens are as much of a challenge as the blues were, I would really recommend that you try to tweak some of those colours.

lol 🥳 yes it was much more dark I had the edging in black. Then it went from dark blue, royal, navy, blue, baby blue, light blue, then white; light purple ( kinda pink). Then went from there; to the end of dark purple. I try to gave each color at 3 rolls. Then 4th roll was that mix ( in between)

Tbh I know too little about your pattern to understand what is on it or to give you any really specific advice. Sorry 😅
But now I'm really really interested what your pattern will look like?

Did you base the pattern on an image? If you want to, you can share a link of that image with me to give me a little bit of a preview.

I add your tag to the notes and then I hit save and test. Not sure it that works. Yet I did change the dark blue to your number colours. I know that the green is over powering but I’m re working on it. So it can go back to being less

Any updates?

I won't see your pattern until you submit/post it.

When I asked you to tag me I meant in your replies here. I only get a notification for them, if you write @halokiwi somewhere in the reply. I don't get a notification otherwise. Only you get one when I reply because you are the creator of this thread.

Hi. Not yet, I haven’t worked on it yet. I’m still in thought about how lighter to go. The colours you sent has help. I add and @ with your user on it. Once I get a chance to work on it I’ll see if it lets me.

I now finally saw your pattern. I can only see it, if I'm the one reviewing it. Tagging me in the review notes does not make me see it.

I meant that you can tag me in the replies to this forum topic, so I see your replies earlier and will reply faster.

The colours only need some minor tweaking now 👍

But I think the pattern would generally benefit from making the design and the background blend less. This way the individual elements are more easily recognisable.

This patter is a challenge. I cut down on a lot of colours. I started to let go and then just seen stars and the new year ball. So I make two new year balls one if on the left and the other one is on the right. The puns on this one. I try to make sure the eye sees night with light. And then I made it smaller to see what I would see and I see everything. Hopefully everyone’s eyes would so the year and the coin.
