I'm just curious, but how do you pick the patterns for the official challenges? Is there a system to it or is it random in a way?

I mostly pick patterns from my loves or to-dos that don't have any photos yet.I try to pick some neutral patterns and some patterns that go along with the season. This time around I'd pick patterns related to Easter and spring. I try to have a variety of amounts of string, so there are easier and harder patterns. For the official bi-weekly challenges one mod picks the patterns, but for the official monthly challenges all mods can make their pattern suggestions. |

For me, I look for patterns that don't have photos and try to feature users who have not been featured yet. I try to choose a variety of styles/complexity/number of strings to appeal to more users. If there is a upcoming holiday or season, I try to include those into the challenge too. 😊
