This title is very sexist since it is saying the top rank is male. This implies that males are superior to other genders. 🤮

Hi I'm kind of wondering this myself - I know that this is how the system has been for a long time but it doesn't necessarily seem like we should be using that sort of terminology, it doesn't seem as inclusive.

imo i don't think its that deep.. i can understand the concern but I really don't think the Admin was sexist when they were thinking about the rankings of the website, nor do I think it implies that one gender is favoured over another. I do think it'd be nice to have the option to choose between King, Queen, and Royalty, but I think it's a little far fetched to say that the rank implies sexism or a hierarchy of genders. I think there's a much nicer way to request this feature than to immediately accuse the website of implying that certain genders are better than others. That's like saying a pack of cards is sexist because the King overweighs the Queen, you know ?

@ondinaevan You bring up a great point in your post. Cards do have a sexist hierarchy that has become extremely normalized. Just because these kinds of hierarchies are so normalized in the world doesn't mean they aren't sexist. No one is saying the creator of this website is sexist and sexist intentions when creating the rankings, but it doesn't change the fact that the rankings have sexist implications.

If @PuPotato was in charge of this website we wouldn't have to worry about these kinds of things.

I think they would have sexist implications if there was a Bracelet Queen and THEN a bracelet King, but just having one or the other isn't that deep. It's likely that when the website was first made, they didn't have the options to change roles based on gender and also didn't have a way for their genders to link to the ranks. Its probably possible now, but its pretty difficult to implement changes when there's soo many requests and the admin has been aware of this request for years now. I think if they could've implemented it sooner they would have. I think it's more important at the moment to keep the website running and release bug fixes and patches than to try and make this update.

The fact that the update hasn't been implemented yet indicates to me that there's just a reason they aren't able to yet. I think if they were to make the update, they'd have to roll it out to people slowly so that the website doesn't crash from so many people changing their rank at the same time, and that itself can be hard to figure out for an individual without a team.

I also think saying that we "have to worry about these sorts of things" and indicating that a different random user would be better at running the website is pretty disrespectful to the admin and moderating team working so hard to make this website a great, functional community for the last couple of years. In honesty I think it's rather silly, I'm sorry to say. I believe there are bigger things to "worry about" on this website than whether or not a certain rank is gendered or not, considering that the website can still often be buggy for people when they use it. I think it's a great suggestion, one that many have made before, but being rude about it and implying that the lack of this update means that the moderating team is faulty is NOT the way to go about requesting this update. I actually think it's the opposite of how things should be done. Bringing up these kinds of topics into discussion is great and I think it should be encouraged, but when someone tries to continue the discussion and you just blatantly imply that the admin isn't doing a good enough job when I'm sure they have more important things to worry about is a little shocking.
