Hey y'all (: So I recently bumped into this pattern: #58972. It's of a woman's bare breasts. Obviously it's pixelated and unreal, but the woman is clearly naked, and I found it a bit innopropriate and offensive😬 I'm not trying to step on anybody's toes here, but just look out for the youngsters of this site ❤️ Am I the only one bothered by these patterns?

I'm kinda in the same boat. The pattern that I've noticed is #140230 I can't really say why, since it doesn't actually show anything. Just feels a little wrong.

Regarding age of users I think this part from BB's Terms of Use is relevant:

https://www.braceletbook.com/tou/

"By using this Site, you represent, acknowledge and agree that you are at least 18 years of age, or if you are under 18 years of age but are at least 13 years old (a "Minor"), that you are using the Site with the consent of your parent or legal guardian...If you are not at least 13 years old, you may not use the Site at any time or in any manner or submit any information to the Site."

Although I have noticed users here who say they are under 13, but it seems like they're not supposed to be using the site.

@Blueknot : Yes! That one as well. I agree with what you said about it. Not showing much, but mm, just doesn't sit well with me. Glad I'm not alone 😂

@Moogle : Ahh, that makes sense! A thirteen year old seeing a bracelet pattern of a naked woman, still feels misfitting though to me :/

I can understand where you're coming from!

I will say however that nudity is not implicitly inappropriate/sexual, and it's not considered shocking or immodest in all cultures.
Those two patterns seem to be about body acceptance and positivity. I can't say for sure about everyone else, but I know at least for me I had seen and learned about the human body by age 13 in school.

((:

I get that!! Yeah, that makes total sense, I can see how that would make sense. But I don't understand how showing a womans bare body is for positivity 😬
But I dunno, just my opinion/something I wish the site would consider more (:

As far as how a bare body could be for body positivity:
Some people are made to feel shame for having certain body types by unhealthy/rigid social standards. Women also are shamed for "showing too much skin" when there isn't anything wrong with it. Body positivity art like this aims to reclaim and celebrate people's natural bodies. It's not intended in any way to be inappropriate.

However if there ever is something you see on BB that you don't think follows the guidelines, in my experience it will be addressed the quickest if you message one of the moderators or tag them within the content itself.

breasts aren’t inherently sexual, if it’s normalized for men to not wear shirts then it should be normalized for women too. in a lot of cultures it’s normalized for women to not have their chests covered so i don’t really see the problem with it. and the reason it’s considered body positivity is because women have been sexualized and shamed for so long for things that are considered not don’t care when men do it and it’s trying to show that breasts aren’t always sexual

@Moogle : All right, makes sense thanks!

@Elise64 XD Well, personally I don't think just because men are allowed to be shirtless, that it's appropriate for girls to be too. I mean it's comparing apples to oranges. And because one culture thinks it's okay, doesn't mean it's right, but I do see what you're saying, thanks! 👍 Just in that specific pattern, it did seem quite sexual, but could just be me

it seems unfair that men are allowed to be shirtless but women aren’t. if you saw a pattern of a man shirtless you wouldn’t assume it was meant to be a
