Hi!
I was uploading a lot of photos today, and I noticed that they all were differently rotated than they showed up on my phone. I don't know if this is a bug or if my phone rotates them via EXIF-data only (but I assume so) and this site ignores EXIF-data on upload (which probably would be great for data security, now that I think about it).
The thing is, I didn't rotate the photos on my phone, so they shouldn't be rotated via EXIF at all. Unfortunately, I can't get my phone to show me the EXIF-data (it's a new phone, so I'm not too sure about anything yet).

Now I don't know if it's a bug of my phone of if there is a problem on this site. And I don't know if the pictures just showed up with the wrong orientation in the file-explorer during the upload, or if they would've been rotated after I completed the upload (which I didn't try because I didn't want the admins to have to reject 14 photos for being upside down).

Does anyone else have this problem?

We moderators can rotate photos. We usually rotate photos so that text or the things portrayed on the bracelet are upright. This might be the reason why the photos have a different rotation.

@halokiwi that is definitely good to know! Next time I don't need to throw a good photo away, then. 😄
But the rotation showed up in the file explorer that comes up when you press on "Choose file" before submitting, so before the photos were accepted.
It just struck me as very weird, but it might well be my phone.
