What if there was a little bar that showed how close you were to ranking up like if the bar is almost full that means that you’re almost ranked up. I think it would eradicate the issue of people being desperate to rank up and feeling like it’s impossible as you can’t see your progress.

It would definitely make people stop asking when they will rank up, if they can see the physical progress, but it would not answer their question how they can do that. It might even have an additional downside: people might care too much about ranking up when they can actually see the progress. They might be motivated to be active for the "wrong" reasons.

How to rank up is one of our frequently asked questions btw because it is asked so often. It is even the first one listed there. It is a bit unfortunate that the FAQs are only available on the website and not the app, but I suspect that many website users also don't check those out, despite "If you'd like to ask a question, please out check the FAQ section first. It may already have an answer for you." on top of every forum page.
