this may be a dumb question but I tend to work with bigger patterns and always find that I wish I had a grid with the number of strings labeled, or even the ability to add rows/columns onto existing patterns, does anyone know if there's something like that on here or something that can do that or do I just need to keep counting them out and drawing a grid on by hand?

I mentioned this a while back in a different context and Admin said that a lot of people want column numbers. So they're definitely aware that it would be helpful. Maybe we're lucky and it will be implemented in the future! For now, you can screenshot the pattern, open it in GIMP or MSpaint or whatever software you have, and just put a red line through every fifth column. That helps me a lot, but I only make alphas, so I don't know how helpful it is with normal patterns. Anyway, if you also make alphas, you can then make a knot at the very end of every fifth base string (or put a paper clip or a piece of tape on every fifth base string). That way you'll never have to count more than five strings. It saves an enormous amount of time! |
