How many strings of a color?

I’m having trouble counting all the strings of one color in normal patterns (eg, 5 blue, 4 dark blue, 3 yellow…etc) especially if the colors are similar. I get its picky, but i think it would be really helpful 😊 thank you even if not

The colours all have letters. The letters should be easy to tell apart even if the colours are similar. Maybe you could try counting all strings of colour A, then B, then C and so on and to also count from left to right as if you were reading. I think doing it this way shouldn't lead to any mistakes.
