I know this is probably something hard to do but I think this is a good idea: We all know there is a draw feature for alphas, but I think it would be cool if that was a thing for normal patterns and when you change a pixel, it changes the knot. Again, this is just an idea. 🙂🙂🙂 |

It seems like the interactive normal generator already does what you describe? Could you explain a little more about how your idea is different?

I just realized that! I'm sorry.

I thought you picked the pixelated pattern itself rather than the knot structure

Normal patterns are structurally different alpha patterns. The core element that determines a design in normal patterns is knot direction/knot structure. For alpha patterns, knot direction does not determine the design, the color of the knot does.

What you could make is a 1212 pattern 🙂 In a 1212 pattern the string order is abababab... and only fb and bf knots are used. This way you can make a two-coloured pattern where any of the knots can have any of the two colours. This way you can "draw" a normal pattern. |
