What if we were to have two public Chats?Hear me out, one public Chat would be as it is right now, about anything and everything, crafty convos or just daily conversation between us and our friends. But then, we have a secondary chat. One that the rank to enter is maybe a bit lower than it currently is, and it’s focused on only bracelet conversations, such as the newbies coming on to ask about how to knot or for easy patterns on bb, or the knotters who know a lot about the craft but would still like to have a live chat solely about bracelets, or anyone who wants to help out some newbies can. I’ve seen people with multiple opinions, some wish that everyone only talked about bracelets in the Chat, and some like to have general conversations with their best friends. So what if we just sorta separated the two? To keep the bracelet chat on topic, mods can remove messages from the chat as they can now, either by coming across it when moderating or if us users see something off topic we can tag you. And ofc the mod can let the person know like “hey btw, to stay on topic here we should move this conversation over to the other chat. 🙂” We do have forums for the newbies to ask questions, and we sometimes have newbies coming into our pms if they have a question, since they’re unable to use the Chat yet. But I think it’s be cool to have a live chat because it’s more of an actual conversation there than it is in forums. In forums it feels a bit more email-ish whereas the Chat feels like texting. At least to me lol. |
