Alpha pattern numbered knots

When making alpha patterns, I usually pull the pattern up on my desktop and follow the pattern version with the arrows because it is easier to read. One suggestion I have to make it easier to read is to number the knots of the same color so that knotters do not have to count them. So, if there is 7 black knots and then 3 white knots in a row it would show 7 black circles with the numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and then 3 white knots with the numbers 1, 2, 3. I hope that makes sense!

I agree and have seen other people request this too. I think it would be cool for base strings to be numbered just like the rows so you can know based on coordinates what row and what knot you are on.
