Why is there a minimum age on being a moderator?

Hi! I really want to be a moderator, however, I am not the right age yet. I would like to know, please, why there is an age requirement? I think that I have learnt lots from being on the site for a while now, even if I am not the right age. Some people may have been on the site for many years now and are still not allowed to moderate. Thanks in advance! Also, I don't mean to criticize or be rude in this question 😊 |

Users could theoretically submit pictures or patterns of anything - including things that would not be appropriate or safe for someone who is younger to see. That rarely happens, but it's better to be safe than sorry.
