@Ideal The rating system is used to judge the quality of the pattern. Great quality designs get high ratings and low quality get low ratings.Reality: People use it the ratings as a means of "downvoting" patterns they don't like. This is especially common of LGBTQ related patterns. Certain users will simply give the pattern the lowest rating they can possibly give it without any critique. When you have say 12 ratings overall, one 1 star or 2 star can hurt the overall rating of the pattern. It's already bad enough we can't undo or re-rate patterns, but there should definitely be some way to appeal low ratings. Alternatively, we simply don't have ratings at all, and let the amount of comments and loves determine the popularity of a pattern. |

If you get several bad ratings by a person in a row and you think it is malicious, you can always report that to the moderators. The rating system has changed a while ago so only users with high ranks can give bad ratings, so hopefully it is happening less than before 🙂 but if it is still happening, you got to let us know! Just message a moderator or super moderator of your choice. |
