Thoughts on junior mods ?

i personally think they should add junior mods but they would be able to do as much like maybe just moderate photos and patterns and be taught by regular mods until they get good enough but let me know what you guys think 🙂 |

I think that letting younger users moderate is probably not going to happen for a couple of reasons. I think that it is harder to trust younger people with moderating decisions, even though they may be great and mature people, as not all younger users are immature. Especially with the rise of controversial patterns on this site, it is harder to make sure that junior moderators who are possibly more impressionable or likely to reject patterns they may disagree with do their job properly. It is harder to prove, as a younger person, that you are capable of the task even though I am sure that plenty of younger users on the site could do a great job. Also, lots of users may be unhappy that people who are possibly much younger than them are declining their patterns and may claim that this is due to inexperienced and young mods. I'm sure there would also be a tOn of requests to be junior mods on this site if that became a possibility, which the current admin and mod team wouldn't be able to sort through. So, while some younger users may do a great job, I think that the mod team isn't going to decide to do it any time soon.

I agree with what @Caramel04. I think it’s important for adults to stay “in charge” of BB and have the most power so that there is a form of security on here.

I know this is a popular idea, but I honestly can't see it happening. 17 is already a low age requirement. Some people don't realize, but some people probably submit innapropriate patterns and photos that younger users should not be seeing. Besides, if you are younger you are more likely not to stick with BB in the future.

I think it would be cool, but only for helping with variations and such. I mean, moderators help keep the site safe for younger people, so why let the younger people look at/ moderate what they shouldn’t see?

As much as I wish this could be a thing, I don’t think it’s super smart. For one bad pictures do get uploaded and the admin could get in serious trouble with the law. Second I have a feeling your talking about 11 year olds rn and no offense to 11 year olds some of you can be really mature, but overall there’s no way to know without actually knowing the person. Plus parental consent and stuff. Like I said I wish this could be a thing because i want to be more involved but overall it’s unfortunately not a good idea.

Ah ok. I could see that. If any age I would say 13 and have a year of training. But I still think the admin won’t like this idea

Yes I do like this idea but they should only be able to do variations and photos! 13-16 would be a good age for junior mods and they could be paired with a mod or super and they could help them!

I heard that a lot of users try to submit inappropriate patterns/photos and if younger users saw them Admin can get in trouble, so it would only really work for variations as you can only change the colors of the current patterns.

I think that this is a great idea!! I would love to be a jr mod but I doubt bb will do it... personally I think that bb would choose trustworthy jrs so it wouldn’t be an issue. I LOVE this idea!
