Any Political Patterns Shouldn't be Accepted Anymore

After seeing so much arguing under pro-life/pro-choice patterns, these patterns shouldn't really be accepted anymore in my opinion. I know that the current rule only targets political candidates/parties but I think any political discussion should be allowed. There are far too many children on this website who shouldn't be exposed to it.

I see your point but at what point does the banning stop? If pro/choice life patterns are no longer allowed, then people would want LGBTQ+ patterns to be banned as well because it goes against their beliefs. Just something to think about.

@Jdog12525 Pro-life and Pro-choice contains sensitive topics (a*ortion). Many people on this website support lgbtq and it’s not as politically charged.

@Deuken i agree, i dont consider lgbtq patterns as political because they usually get a lot of support, because the world is changing and so are the people. However prolife and prochoice will always be sensitive topics because its a vast subject and everyone has a different opinion on it.

I think any social issue can be considered political, but the real issue is the comment section not the patterns. I think these patterns should still exist because people should be able to express their opinion. That being said, the comment issues often get into some heavy politics and arguments. A better solution, in my opinion, would be to disable comments on these posts.

I don't think it would be fair to these creators to completely remove the patterns just because people want to argue and get very rude in the comments. Instead, a good alternative I think would be like what @zoeyllm said with disabling the comment section on patterns like that, or adding a feature where you can block tags you don't want to see like you can on other websites If we blocked patterns you don't want to see it would still allow for positive comments from those who do support it!! And it would eliminate the need for people to say "if you don't like it scroll past it" because you can block it for yourself if there are others in the comment section that after that were still being rude and hateful, then at that point it can be taken up with a moderator or admin himself because they're purposefully trying to spread hate, and that's against the rules |

@zoeyllm @Deer-Teeth I was thinking of it more from a mod/admin's perspective, like trying to make a rule that wasn't vague. But disabling comments would be great as well.

Yeah I think they could be handled better, maybe disabling comments on certain patterns would be an improvement?

I personally believe that if you are too young to see those patterns, you shouldn't be on the internet at all

@indaco Young people should be able to use the internet for things like this, since the website is for a general audience it should be using COPPA.

@Deuken how does it work? I am not really informed about that

@indaco It's mainly used to protect children under the age of 13 personal information, but it can also be used to limit how a child interacts with a website. For example, Youtube removed comments from videos targeted at children.

I honestly think that like there should be political patterns allowed but no comments to avoid arguments

@indaco I don’t really agree. I mean this is a bracelet app you shouldn’t tell people that they shouldn’t be on the internet if they are too young to see the patterns, some kids just want to make bracelets so that’s not fair.

We should be able to turn off comments on patterns AND turn off private messaging from people who aren't marked as friends, excluding the admins of course. Telling people to stop spamming political posts with their counter-belief in the comments just invites them to send private messages without permission. And the worst part is that there is no "delete message" option so it just sits there in your inbox. Being able to block the tags so you can't see the patterns and block people who aren't behaving maturely should be options too.
