I'm not sure how difficult it would be to implement, but I think the ability to upload photos through the app would be a great thing. Most of us (I'm assuming) take the photos we post with our phones anyway, and it would definitely be more convenient.

You already can. Go to the pattern you want to post a picture of and hit the plus symbol in the top right corner. Select upload picture and you're done.
