Please add string length calculator to the patterns

Hello!I've been making bracelet for a while with this formula: 1cm of string per knot (+ loop + ties + the string that comes between the color areas under the bracelet). It always works flawlessly. However, it's time consuming to calculate that in every pattern I make, especially in normal patterns where it can't be easily calculated by grid like in alphas. It would be really cool if a formula could be made that tells you the string length that should be used. Or at least how many knots of each color is there in the pattern. This would help to create less scrap threads which would save the money and reduce trash production (even by little) I can help brainstorming the formula if needed.
